Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tongfeng Qingxiao formula (TFQXF) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal decoction developed by Professor Deng Yunming for the treatment of gouty arthritis, particularly the 'damp heat accumulation' syndrome. It is composed of eleven herbal ingredients, including *Atractylodes lancea*, *Atractylodes macrocephala*, and *Phellodendron amurense*. TFQXF is administered orally and has demonstrated therapeutic effects in clinical and preclinical models. Research suggests it modulates the gut microbiome and serum metabolomics, and it has been observed to improve lipid profiles by lowering triglycerides, total cholesterol, and LDL-C while increasing HDL-C. It also appears to influence markers of liver and kidney function, such as ALT, AST, and creatinine.
