Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tongguan Jiaonang (Tongguan Capsule) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula developed by the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (also known as the 2nd Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine). Formulated based on the therapeutic principles of supplementing Qi and activating blood circulation (益气活血), it is primarily investigated for the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular complications. Clinical research has focused on its efficacy in preventing left ventricular remodeling following acute myocardial infarction (AMI), reducing the incidence of restenosis after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) or stent implantation, and stabilizing coronary atherosclerotic plaques in patients with coronary heart disease. Studies have also explored its potential mechanism of action through the modulation of microRNA expression profiles related to blood stasis syndrome.
