Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tongqiao Pingchuan is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal prescription developed by the Shanghai Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of Combined Allergic Rhinitis and Asthma Syndrome (CARAS) in children. Based on the TCM principle of pulmonary-nasal simultaneous treatment, the formula aims to address the physiological and pathological connections between the upper and lower airways. It is specifically indicated for the pulmonary syndrome caused by wind pathogens during acute attacks. The prescription is currently undergoing evaluation in multi-center, randomized, double-blind, parallel-controlled clinical trials to provide high-level clinical evidence for its efficacy and safety, supporting the development of standardized TCM treatment plans for pediatric CARAS.
