Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tongren Niuhuang Qingxin Wan is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula developed and manufactured by Beijing Tong Ren Tang. Composed of 27 herbal and animal-derived ingredients—including artificial bezoar, antelope horn, artificial musk, ginseng, and buffalo horn concentrated powder—it is widely used to replenish vital energy (Qi) and blood, relieve convulsions, tranquilize nervous strain, and eliminate phlegm and wind. It is primarily indicated for the treatment and prevention of stroke, hemiplegia, facial paralysis, slurred speech, dizziness, vertigo, and palpitations. Recent pharmacological studies suggest that it may also exert antidepressant and anxiolytic effects by modulating the BDNF/TrkB/ERK/CREB signaling pathway and adrenergic signaling, thereby promoting hippocampal neurogenesis and synaptic plasticity.
