Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tongrushuluo Decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed for the treatment of lactational mastitis, referred to in TCM as breast carbuncle. Based on the Abnormal Collaterals Theory, the decoction is formulated to clear heat, resolve toxins, and dredge the breast collaterals to alleviate inflammation and promote the discharge of milk. It is primarily studied as a therapeutic intervention in breastfeeding women, often in combination with manual massage therapy (manual milk extraction) to improve clinical outcomes and prevent the progression of mastitis to breast abscess. The formula is associated with clinical research conducted at the Dongfang Hospital Affiliated to Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
