Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tongsai Keli is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) granule formulation primarily indicated for the treatment of ischemic stroke (cerebral infarction) during the recovery phase, particularly for patients presenting with Qi deficiency and blood stasis. It is composed of several herbal and animal-derived ingredients, including *Astragalus membranaceus*, *Salvia miltiorrhiza*, *Panax notoginseng*, *Hirudo* (leech), and *Lumbricus* (earthworm). The drug functions by promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, and tonifying Qi. Pharmacologically, it has been shown to improve cerebral microcirculation, inhibit platelet aggregation, and provide neuroprotective effects by reducing inflammatory responses and oxidative stress in brain tissues. It is widely used in China for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular health management.
