Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tongxie Anchang Formula (TXACD) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal prescription developed by Professor Li Junxiang at Dongfang Hospital, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. It is a multi-herb botanical drug composed of seven ingredients: Atractylodes macrocephala, Paeoniae Radix Alba, Coptidis Rhizoma, Rhizoma Zingiberis Preparata, Citrus reticulata, Cicadae Periostracum, and Mume Fructus. Indicated for diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D), particularly in patients with liver depression and spleen deficiency, the formula acts by regulating the NGF/TrkA signaling pathway to alleviate visceral hypersensitivity. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials in China as a granule formulation.
