Overview

TOP1630 is a potent, topical anti-inflammatory drug classified as a Narrow Spectrum Kinase Inhibitor (NSKI). It is being developed primarily for the treatment of dry eye disease (DED), an inflammatory disorder affecting the front of the eye. The drug acts by selectively inhibiting key kinases involved in inflammatory pathways, specifically targeting p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase, Src-family kinases, Syk kinase, and other protein kinases. When administered as eye drops, TOP1630 is absorbed and retained by target inflammatory cells in the cornea with minimal systemic exposure. Clinical studies have shown that it is safe, well-tolerated, and effective at improving both symptoms and signs of DED compared to placebo. Its favorable benefit-risk profile supports further development for ocular inflammation[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8].
