Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Topison is a brand name for a topical cream containing Mometasone Furoate, a synthetic corticosteroid. It is primarily used for the treatment of various inflammatory and allergic skin conditions, such as atopic dermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis. Mometasone Furoate works by binding to cytoplasmic glucocorticoid receptors, which leads to the modulation of gene transcription. This action results in the suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, chemokines, and prostaglandins, while also activating the synthesis of anti-inflammatory proteins, thereby reducing inflammation, itching, and vasoconstriction.
