toppefilgrastim

Toppefilgrastim is a biosimilar of filgrastim, a recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) analog. Filgrastim stimulates the production of neutrophils (a type of white blood cell) by mimicking endogenous G-CSF, thereby reducing the risk and duration of neutropenia and febrile neutropenia in patients undergoing myelosuppressive chemotherapy or radiation therapy. It is used to decrease infection risk in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy, to aid recovery after bone marrow transplantation, and to increase survival after radiation exposure. As a biosimilar, toppefilgrastim works through the same mechanism as filgrastim by binding to G-CSF receptors on hematopoietic cells and stimulating proliferation and differentiation into mature neutrophils.
