Toralgen oral insulin

Toralgen oral insulin is an experimental peptide therapeutic being developed for the treatment of Type 1 diabetes and other autoimmune disorders. The formulation utilizes Toralgen's proprietary polybile nanoparticle platform, which consists of nanoparticles made from polymerized ursodeoxycholic acid (PUDCA). This technology is designed to protect insulin from degradation as it passes through the gastrointestinal tract and to facilitate its absorption in the intestine. Once absorbed, the nanoparticles enable the distribution of insulin to key metabolic and immune organs, including the liver, spleen, pancreas, and lymphatic system. The program was accepted into the FDA's Emerging Technology Program in 2020 and is currently in preclinical development.
