Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ToRNAdo is a proprietary lipid-based delivery system designed for the efficient transport of mRNA into various cell types, both *ex vivo* and *in vivo*. Developed by Factor Bioscience and licensed by Eterna Therapeutics, the system is a key component of an mRNA cell engineering platform used for applications such as mRNA cell reprogramming and gene editing. ToRNAdo facilitates the delivery of mRNA to tissues including the skin, brain, eye, and lung, enabling the transient expression of proteins or gene-editing enzymes (such as NoveSlice or UltraSlice) without permanent genomic integration. It is particularly utilized in the development of next-generation cell therapies, such as gene-edited induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) for neurological and inflammatory indications. The system employs multivalent ionizable lipids, often featuring a spermine-based headgroup and ester-linked tails, to achieve high encapsulation efficiency and effective endosomal escape.
