Overview

Torudokimab is a fully human monoclonal antibody that specifically targets and neutralizes interleukin-33 (IL-33), a cytokine involved in inflammatory and immune responses. It does not bind to other members of the IL-1 family and demonstrates high affinity for human and cynomolgus monkey IL-33, but not for mouse, rat, or rabbit IL-33. Torudokimab was originally developed by Eli Lilly and is now being further developed by Zura Bio under license. The drug has been investigated primarily for atopic dermatitis (where development was discontinued) and is currently in Phase 2 clinical trials for asthma. Its mechanism of action involves inhibiting the activity of IL-33, thereby modulating inflammatory pathways relevant to diseases such as asthma[2][4][10].
