The content of total flavonoids (calculated as rutin) typically ranges from 50–68% by weight[3][6]. TFDS has demonstrated antilithic (anti-kidney stone), diuretic, choleretic (promoting bile secretion), and antioxidant effects in preclinical models[1][3][6]. Its primary clinical indication is for the treatment and prevention of urolithiasis (kidney stones), particularly calcium oxalate stones. Mechanistically, TFDS appears to reduce renal calcium oxalate deposition through antioxidative pathways and modulation of urinary biochemical parameters related to stone formation[1][6].
