Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TOTEKVIN is an equine-derived tetanus antitoxin serum developed and manufactured by the Torlak Institute of Virology, Vaccines and Sera. It contains purified and concentrated immunoglobulins obtained from horses immunized against tetanus toxin. The product provides immediate passive immunity by neutralizing the tetanus toxin produced by *Clostridium tetani*, preventing the toxin from binding to nervous system receptors. It is indicated for the post-exposure prophylaxis of tetanus in individuals with tetanus-prone injuries who have an incomplete or unknown vaccination history.
