ToughCAR

ToughCAR is a novel CAR-T cell therapy platform developed by Chongqing Precision Biotech that utilizes a rapid 7-day manufacturing process to generate Th9/Tc9-polarized CAR-T cells. Unlike conventional Th1/Tc1-polarized CAR-T cells, ToughCAR cells secrete IL-9 and are enriched for stem-like memory (Tscm) subsets, which provides them with superior metabolic fitness, enhanced proliferation, and resistance to exhaustion within the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment of solid tumors. In preclinical models and early clinical studies targeting CEACAM5, ToughCAR has demonstrated robust antitumor potency and complete tumor regression. A first-in-human study in patients with heavily pre-treated colorectal cancer reported a 57% objective response rate (ORR).
