Overview
Touguling rubber plaster (also known as Tongguling rubber plaster or Yashuneridun in Mongolian) is a traditional Mongolian medicine (TMM) formulated as a topical plaster. It is composed of several herbal and natural ingredients, including Speranskia herb, Radix Aconiti Lateralis Praeparata, Rhizoma Typhonii, Radix Aconiti Praeparata, Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii Praeparata, Rhizoma Arisaematis, Caulis Spatholobi, menthol, borneol, and camphor. Developed by companies such as Inner Mongolia Furui and Inner Mongolia Keerqin Pharmaceutical, it is approved in China for the treatment of bone hyperplasia, rheumatoid arthritis, and musculoskeletal pain. Clinical studies, including a Phase 2 trial sponsored by the Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical University, have evaluated its efficacy in patients with osteoarthritis, demonstrating its ability to alleviate pain and joint swelling by modulating inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-alpha, MMP-3, VEGF, and CGRP.
