Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TOXAVIT is a paraformaldehyde-based dental preparation used for the devitalization of dental pulp during endodontic or root canal treatments. Developed by lege artis Pharma, it serves as an arsenic-free alternative for emergency pain management when conventional anesthesia is ineffective or vital extirpation is not possible. The formulation contains paraformaldehyde, which releases formaldehyde to devitalize the pulp tissue, combined with lidocaine hydrochloride and eugenol to provide immediate local anesthesia and pain relief. Metacresol is included for its antiseptic properties. The product is a dark grey, viscous paste designed for topical application directly into the exposed pulp cavity.
