Toxclean

Toxclean is an orally administered medical device developed by ABResearch S.r.l. for the treatment of recurrent *Clostridium difficile*-associated diarrhea (CDAD). It is formulated as a powder (typically in 1g or 2g doses) and is intended for use as an adjunctive therapy alongside standard-of-care antibiotics. Toxclean is designed to act locally within the gastrointestinal tract to bind and neutralize the toxins (TcdA and TcdB) produced by *C. difficile* bacteria. By sequestering these toxins, the device aims to prevent mucosal damage, reduce the severity of diarrheal symptoms, and lower the risk of infection recurrence. It is currently being evaluated in exploratory clinical investigations to assess its safety and efficacy in patients with recurrent CDAD.
