Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Tozinameran + riltozinameran** is the bivalent original/Omicron BA.1 formulation of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 mRNA vaccine marketed as **Comirnaty Original/Omicron BA.1**. It contains equal 15-microgram amounts of two lipid-nanoparticle-formulated nucleoside-modified mRNAs: tozinameran, encoding the ancestral SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, and riltozinameran, encoding the Omicron BA.1 spike protein. Following intramuscular administration, translated spike antigens stimulate neutralising antibody and cellular immune responses against SARS-CoV-2. It was authorized as a booster vaccine for prevention of COVID-19; later variant-updated Comirnaty formulations superseded the BA.1 product.
