Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TP-03 vehicle is the inactive control formulation used in Phase 3 clinical trials (such as Saturn-1 and Saturn-2) by Tarsus Pharmaceuticals to evaluate the safety and efficacy of TP-03 (lotilaner ophthalmic solution 0.25%) for the treatment of Demodex blepharitis. As a vehicle control, it contains the same excipients and inactive ingredients as the active drug product but lacks the active antiparasitic agent, lotilaner. In clinical studies, it serves as a comparator to isolate the therapeutic effects of lotilaner in eradicating Demodex mites and resolving clinical signs like collarettes. The active version of this formulation is now FDA-approved under the brand name XDEMVY.
