Overview

TP-102 is a topical bacteriophage cocktail therapy developed for the treatment of infected diabetic foot ulcers and other wound infections. It consists of five different lytic bacteriophages targeting *Staphylococcus aureus*, *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*, and *Acinetobacter baumannii*. The drug is designed to address infections that are difficult to treat with conventional antibiotics by using phages that replicate upon encountering their bacterial hosts, thereby eliminating the infection locally. TP-102 has received FDA Fast Track designation for this indication and is currently in Phase 2 clinical trials evaluating its safety and efficacy as a non-traditional antimicrobial agent for chronic wounds[1][2][5].
