TP-137B (also known as AN-137B) is a preclinical-stage synthetic analog of protectin DX (PDX), a specialized pro-resolving mediator (SPM) derived from the omega-3 fatty acid docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Developed by Trienix Pharma in collaboration with the CHU de Québec-Université Laval and Université Laval, TP-137B acts as an agonist of the G protein-coupled receptor GPR37. It is designed to possess dual antiviral and inflammation-resolving properties. In preclinical models of severe influenza A (H1N1) infection, TP-137B has demonstrated the ability to reduce viral replication and limit cytokine storm-induced acute lung injury, particularly when combined with standard antiviral therapies like oseltamivir (Tamiflu).
