tpdelansbsalbac is a recombinant, live-attenuated, and hypoxia-targeted strain of *Salmonella typhimurium* (YB1) developed by Beijing Transebacillus Biotech for the treatment of solid tumors and malignant effusions. The bacterium is engineered to selectively replicate in the hypoxic microenvironment of tumors by placing the essential *asd* (aspartate-semialdehyde dehydrogenase) gene under the control of a hypoxia-inducible promoter. This modification, along with the deletion of the *rpoS* gene, ensures that the bacteria remain localized to the tumor site, minimizing systemic toxicity while inducing oncolytic effects and stimulating a local immune response. It is currently being evaluated in Phase I/II clinical trials for patients with malignant pleural and abdominal effusions.
