TPI-1100 is an investigational inhaled antisense oligonucleotide developed for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is a dual-acting RNA-silencing agent that utilizes proprietary FANA (2'-deoxy-2'-fluoro-beta-D-arabinonucleic acid) technology to target and inhibit the expression of phosphodiesterase isoforms PDE4 and PDE7. By silencing these enzymes, TPI-1100 aims to reduce airway inflammation and remodeling associated with COPD. The drug is delivered via aerosol inhalation to ensure localized pulmonary action while minimizing systemic side effects typically associated with oral small molecule PDE inhibitors. Development was initiated by Topigen Pharmaceuticals, which was later acquired by Pharmaxis.
