TPI 1361-17 is a **high-affinity, selective antagonist of the melanin-concentrating hormone 1 receptor (MCH1R)**, a G protein-coupled receptor implicated in the modulation of energy homeostasis, feeding behavior, reward pathways, anxiety, and mood. Developed as a research tool, it acts at nanomolar concentrations, shows specificity with negligible off-target activity, and is effective in vivo. In animal models, TPI 1361-17 has demonstrated the ability to suppress MCH-induced food intake, inhibit cocaine self-administration, reduce relapse induced by cocaine-associated cues and stress, and exert anxiolytic effects. It does not induce aversive responses or alter locomotion when centrally administered[1][3][6][10][16][18][19].
