Overview

TPIP F3 is a specific dry powder formulation of treprostinil palmitil, an investigational prodrug of the prostacyclin analogue treprostinil. Developed by Insmed Incorporated, TPIP is designed for once-daily inhalation to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD). The prodrug consists of treprostinil linked by an ester bond to a 16-carbon chain, which is intended to provide a sustained-release profile within the lungs. TPIP F3 was evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to compare its bioavailability and safety profile against an earlier formulation (F2), aiming to optimize the delivery of treprostinil to the pulmonary vasculature while minimizing systemic side effects.
