Overview

TPM502 is an investigational therapy developed by Topas Therapeutics for the treatment of celiac disease. It consists of a mixture of nanoparticles engineered to carry the major gluten epitopes specific for HLA-DQ2.5, which are present in the majority of celiac disease patients. The drug leverages Topas’ proprietary nanotechnology platform, known as Topas Particle Conjugates (TPCs), designed to induce targeted, antigen-specific immune tolerance by delivering antigens to liver sinusoidal endothelial cells with potent tolerogenic capabilities. TPM502 aims to establish long-term immune tolerance against gluten in celiac patients, offering a potential disease-modifying approach where no approved pharmacological treatments currently exist. In clinical studies, TPM502 has demonstrated a favorable safety profile and proof-of-concept for inducing antigen-specific tolerogenic effects[1][2][3][8].
