Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TPX-ECGC is a preclinical-stage anti-inflammatory therapeutic candidate developed by TherapyX. It utilizes the company's proprietary nano-encapsulation (NKE) technology to deliver epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), a bioactive polyphenol found in green tea. EGCG is known for its potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, including the inhibition of NF-κB signaling and the downregulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines like TNF-α and IL-6. The TPX-ECGC formulation is designed to overcome the inherent limitations of EGCG, such as poor stability and low systemic bioavailability, by protecting the molecule within microparticles for targeted delivery to inflammatory sites.
