Overview

TQA2225 is a fully human long-acting fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) fusion protein designed for the treatment of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), also known as non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). It utilizes natural human FGF21 as the active form and incorporates a unique linker platform technology to extend its in vivo half-life while preserving biological activity. This approach aims to reduce immunogenicity and improve safety compared to other similar targeted drugs. The mechanism of action involves FGF21 signal transduction, which has demonstrated potential in reversing fibrosis, reducing liver fat, and improving glycemic control. TQA2225 is currently undergoing Phase II clinical trials in China and is considered the fastest-developing product among FGF21-targeted therapies in that region[1][4][6][8].
