Overview

TQA3038 is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) drug developed for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. It is a GalNAc-conjugated siRNA designed to specifically target and degrade HBV RNA in hepatocytes, thereby inhibiting the translation of viral proteins and blocking HBV replication. The drug accumulates in the liver due to its GalNAc conjugation, which facilitates targeted delivery to hepatocytes. Preclinical studies have shown that TQA3038 exhibits strong antiviral activity both in vitro and in vivo, with good safety and tolerability profiles demonstrated in animal models. Clinical trials indicate that TQA3038 has favorable safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic characteristics similar to other siRNA drugs under development for HBV. The developer reports that this agent may significantly improve functional cure rates for patients with chronic hepatitis B[4][5][6][7].
