TQB3720 is an orally bioavailable, second-generation small molecule antagonist of the androgen receptor (AR), developed primarily for the treatment of prostate cancer, including castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC). It works by specifically binding to and inhibiting AR activation and its downstream signaling pathways. Unlike earlier AR antagonists, TQB3720 inhibits AR nuclear translocation and disrupts the interaction between AR and SP1 transcription factor, leading to downregulation of genes involved in tumor proliferation and survival. This mechanism also promotes ferroptosis—a form of regulated cell death—in prostate cancer cells. Preclinical studies have shown that TQB3720 suppresses tumor growth both in vitro and in vivo.
