Overview

TQF3250 is an orally administered biased glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist developed by Chia Tai Tianqing Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. for the treatment of hyperglycemia and type 2 diabetes mellitus. As a biased agonist, TQF3250 is designed to selectively activate specific intracellular signaling pathways associated with the GLP-1 receptor while minimizing the recruitment of other pathways, such as β-arrestin, which are often linked to receptor desensitization and side effects. This selective activation aims to provide superior glycemic control and improved tolerability, particularly regarding gastrointestinal adverse effects, compared to traditional GLP-1 receptor agonists. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile in healthy volunteers.
