TQL101 is a biosimilar monoclonal antibody of ramucirumab, developed by Chia Tai Tianqing Pharmaceutical Group. It is a fully human IgG1 monoclonal antibody that specifically binds to the extracellular domain of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2). By acting as a VEGFR2 antagonist, TQL101 prevents the binding of VEGF-A, VEGF-C, and VEGF-D, thereby inhibiting the downstream signaling pathways that drive angiogenesis, endothelial cell proliferation, and migration. This mechanism effectively suppresses the blood supply to tumors, inhibiting their growth and progression. TQL101 is administered via intravenous infusion and is primarily being developed for the treatment of advanced gastric cancer, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and colorectal cancer. In China, it has reached Phase 3 clinical trials for gastric cancer, demonstrating its potential as a more accessible alternative to the reference product, Cyramza.
