TR372

TR372 is a selective small molecule inhibitor of the voltage-gated sodium channel Nav1.8 (SCN10A), currently in clinical development by Tarapeutics Pharmaceutical Science for the treatment of pain. Nav1.8 is predominantly expressed in peripheral nociceptive neurons and is a critical component in the generation and conduction of action potentials associated with pain signaling. By specifically targeting Nav1.8, TR372 aims to provide effective analgesia for acute and chronic pain conditions while avoiding the central nervous system (CNS) and cardiovascular toxicities often seen with non-selective sodium channel inhibitors. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile in healthy subjects and patients with pain.
