TRA

TRA is a concentrated traditional Chinese herbal extract granule formulation developed by Changhua Christian Hospital. It is designed as a non-antibiotic prophylactic intervention to prevent symptomatic urinary tract infections (UTIs) and reduce associated hospitalizations, particularly in high-risk elderly populations such as nursing home residents. The formulation consists of standardized herbal extracts intended to provide an alternative to conventional antimicrobial therapy, thereby addressing concerns regarding increasing antimicrobial resistance in long-term care settings. In clinical evaluations, it is administered orally as granules dissolved in water.
