Trachisan

Trachisan is a combination throat lozenge indicated for the symptomatic relief of inflammatory and infectious conditions of the oral cavity and pharynx, such as sore throat, pharyngitis, and gingivitis. The formulation contains three active components: **tyrothricin**, a topical antibiotic that disrupts bacterial membranes; **chlorhexidine digluconate**, a broad-spectrum antiseptic; and **lidocaine hydrochloride**, a local anesthetic that provides rapid pain relief by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels. Originally developed by Engelhard Arzneimittel and marketed by FarmaSyn in the Greek market, Trachisan is an over-the-counter (OTC) product designed for local application in the mouth and throat.
