Overview

Tracurie is a monoclonal antibody biosimilar developed by MiGenTra, designed to target the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2). As a biosimilar of trastuzumab, it is intended for the treatment of HER2-overexpressing cancers, particularly in the oncology field. The drug's mechanism of action involves high-affinity binding to the extracellular domain of the HER2 receptor, which inhibits ligand-independent HER2 signaling and prevents the proteolytic cleavage of its extracellular domain, a process that otherwise leads to the formation of a constitutively active growth-promoting protein. Furthermore, Tracurie mediates antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) by recruiting immune effector cells, such as natural killer cells, to tumor cells that overexpress HER2, leading to their destruction. It is part of MiGenTra's strategic pipeline focused on providing affordable biologics to the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
