Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Traditional Chinese medicine breast ointment is a topical herbal formulation developed by the Third Affiliated Hospital of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of hyperplasia of mammary glands. The ointment is applied externally to the breast area to alleviate symptoms such as mastalgia (breast pain) and to reduce the size of glandular lumps associated with mammary hyperplasia. Its therapeutic approach is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles of promoting blood circulation, resolving stasis, and dissipating phlegm-dampness to treat Rupi (breast nodules). It has been studied in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 4 clinical trial in China to evaluate its clinical efficacy and safety profile.
