Traditional Chinese medicine granules for tonifying kidney and promoting blood circulation (also known as Bushen Huoxue granules) is an investigational herbal formulation developed by Longhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is designed to address the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome pattern of liver-kidney yin deficiency with blood stasis. The formulation is being evaluated in clinical trials in China, in combination with ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), for the treatment of patients with stage 2 to 3 primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) to improve clinical efficacy, symptoms, liver function, and liver fibrosis.
