Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Traditional loquat Qingfei decoction (also known as traditional Pipa Qingfei Yin) is a classic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula originating from the Qing dynasty text *Yi Zong Jin Jian* (Golden Mirror of Medicine). The traditional decoction is prepared by boiling raw herbal ingredients in water. The classic formula consists of six main herbs: loquat leaf (*Folium Eriobotryae*), mulberry bark (*Cortex Mori*), coptis root (*Rhizoma Coptidis*), amur cork tree bark (*Cortex Phellodendri*), ginseng (*Radix Ginseng*), and licorice (*Radix Glycyrrhizae*). It is primarily used to clear lung heat, detoxify, and cool blood, making it a common treatment for lung-heat type acne vulgaris (acne of the TCM lung-heat/wind-heat pattern).
