Tragopogon coelesyriacus extract is a botanical research compound derived from the aerial parts (stems, leaves, and flowers) of the biennial herbaceous plant *Tragopogon coelesyriacus* Boiss., a member of the Asteraceae family. The plant is traditionally consumed as a vegetable in Turkey. Preclinical studies, including in vitro and in silico analyses, have identified the extract as a source of bioactive phytochemicals, notably keracyanin chloride and naringin. These constituents have demonstrated potential antimicrobial activity against pathogens such as *Staphylococcus aureus*, *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*, and *Klebsiella pneumoniae*, as well as selective anticarcinogenic effects against AR42J pancreatic cancer cells. Mechanistically, keracyanin chloride is suggested to inhibit the bacterial cell wall biosynthesis enzyme MurB, while naringin targets FYN kinase, a protein involved in pancreatic cancer progression. The extract is currently in the early preclinical research phase and has not been developed into a commercial pharmaceutical product.
