Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Tralement** is a prescription fixed-dose, four-component inorganic trace-element injection developed and manufactured by American Regent for use in parenteral nutrition. It contains zinc sulfate, cupric sulfate, manganese sulfate, and selenious acid, supplying zinc, copper, manganese, and selenium to adult and pediatric patients weighing at least 10 kg when oral or enteral nutrition is not possible, insufficient, or contraindicated. The mineral constituents restore essential trace-element availability for incorporation into metalloproteins and for normal activity of numerous enzymes involved in antioxidant defense, energy metabolism, connective-tissue formation, immune function, and other metabolic processes. Tralement is supplied as a preservative-free single-dose vial for addition to a parenteral nutrition solution and must not be administered by direct intravenous infusion. Each mL provides zinc 3 mg, copper 0.3 mg, manganese 55 mcg, and selenium 60 mcg. ([accessdata.fda.gov](https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda_docs/label/2024/209376s007lbl.pdf))
