Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tralokinumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody that targets and neutralizes interleukin-13 (IL-13), a cytokine involved in the inflammatory response associated with atopic dermatitis. By binding to IL-13 with high affinity, tralokinumab prevents its interaction with the interleukin-13 receptor alpha 1 (IL-13Rα1) and disrupts downstream signaling pathways that drive inflammation in atopic dermatitis. It is indicated for the treatment of moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) in adults and children aged 12 years and older who are candidates for systemic therapy or whose disease is not adequately controlled by topical treatments. Tralokinumab was developed by Leo Pharma and is marketed under the brand names Adtralza (EU/UK) and Adbry (US). It is administered as a subcutaneous injection[1][4][5][7].
