tranexamic acid + mefenamic acid

Mouzex-MF is an oral fixed-dose combination tablet containing tranexamic acid (500 mg) and mefenamic acid (250 mg), developed and marketed by Little Greave Pharmaceuticals. It is indicated for the treatment of heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia) and associated menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea). Tranexamic acid is an antifibrinolytic agent that competitively inhibits the activation of plasminogen to plasmin, thereby preventing the breakdown of fibrin clots and reducing excessive bleeding. Mefenamic acid is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins that cause pain, uterine contractions, and inflammation. Together, this combination provides dual therapeutic benefits by controlling blood loss and relieving painful cramps during the menstrual cycle.
