Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination of tranexamic acid, an antifibrinolytic agent that inhibits plasminogen activation, and misoprostol, a prostaglandin E1 analog that stimulates uterine contractions. This combination is primarily used to prevent and treat postpartum hemorrhage, particularly in high-risk patients undergoing cesarean delivery or other obstetric procedures. Clinical studies show it significantly reduces blood loss compared to oxytocin alone or carbetocin.
