Tranexamic acid + sodium chloride is a fixed-dose intravenous combination of tranexamic acid, an antifibrinolytic agent, and sodium chloride as a diluent. Tranexamic acid works by competitively and reversibly inhibiting the activation of plasminogen to plasmin, thereby preventing fibrin degradation and stabilizing blood clots. This combination is primarily indicated for short-term use (2–8 days) in patients with hemophilia to reduce or prevent hemorrhage and decrease the need for replacement therapy during and following tooth extraction. Sodium chloride serves as the vehicle for intravenous administration[2][6][7]. The mechanism of action centers on inhibition of fibrinolysis via blockade of plasminogen binding sites on fibrin[3][5].
