Overview
TransCon treprostinil is a prodrug formulation of treprostinil being developed for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). It utilizes Ascendis Pharma's proprietary TransCon technology platform, which enables sustained release of unmodified treprostinil following once-daily subcutaneous injection. The drug is designed to produce a pharmacokinetic profile comparable to continuously infused prostacyclins while offering a more convenient administration route and avoiding complications associated with infused therapies such as infusion site pain and risk of bloodstream infections.
