Drug intelligence / Profile preview
THPP (Transmucosal Herbal Periodontal Patch) is a botanical-based therapeutic patch developed by Izun Pharma Ltd for the treatment of gingival inflammation (gingivitis), particularly in patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. The patch is designed as a transmucosal delivery system that applies a proprietary herbal compound directly to the gingival tissue. This compound consists of extracts from *Centella asiatica*, *Echinacea purpurea*, and *Sambucus nigra*, which have demonstrated potent anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties. The product is intended to reduce local inflammation at the site of application and potentially improve overall oral health in diabetic patients, who are at higher risk for severe periodontal disease. It has been evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials to assess its efficacy and safety in reducing gingival inflammation.
