Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Transvamix** is a prescription cannabinoid-based sublingual oil containing delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol 100 mg/mL and cannabidiol 50 mg/mL, corresponding to 10% THC and 5% CBD. It is a fixed-dose small-molecule cannabinoid formulation prepared by Transvaal Pharmacy using standardized Bedrocan and Bedrolite cannabis raw materials. THC is a partial agonist of cannabinoid receptors, principally CB1, and is intended to modulate nociceptive and affective pain processing; CBD is included as a co-active cannabinoid and may attenuate some THC-related adverse effects. Transvamix has been studied by University Medical Center Groningen in placebo-controlled crossover trials for chronic pain associated with epidermolysis bullosa and in a Phase 2a study for untreatable advanced hepatocellular carcinoma.
